Description

Cera’s only goat, Kori, which she had been given by her late husband, disappeared under mysterious circumstances one day. Cera went looking for the goat at night, sending Ciru home to feed her family. Later, Ciru and her brother, Mwangi, went looking for Cera and were drawn by a cry similar to that of a goat. When they followed the cry, they found Cera, who said it was from an African mamba.

The trio ran off and decided to wait for the snake at the water pool next to the huge stone, for a thirsty snake must look for water. They rolled the stone onto the snake as it drank water. The stone rested on the snake’s back, trapping it in the water pool. Thereafter, they went to Cera’s hut, and before they settled down, Kori, the lost goat, returned home; every goat knows its home.
